The Hammerhead cranes are about to be severed from their historic location and sold to the Indian shipbuilding company Bharati. As the industrial landscape is reshaped, impacts on the community are not only economic but also about loss and nostalgia.

This playful yet melancholic image attempts to deal with the post industrial present by looking at the edifices of urban regeneration and imagining new meanings. The iconic machinery is restaged as an impossible fairground attraction" Sharon Wilson

With help from audio artist Tim Hutchinson and photographer Derick Henderson.

Haker Herald will continue throughout 2008 with monthly posters from twelve more studio artists.

Look out for artworks from Mary Renner, Jock Mooney, Laura Lancaster, Rachel Lancaster, Mick Davies Sarah Wales, Carol McGuigan, Mike Collier, Karen Davies, Stephen Palmer, Lynda Dodsworth and Joe Woodhouse
