Born Slippy

Born Slippy

The artist has chosen to sidestep the visual language of billboards and advertising in favour of painting, using colour washes to build formal colour relations while retaining a flatness of surface, it has semi transparent layers that unify the surface and create form.

"The title hints at the painting's kinship to music (second cousin, twice removed). While avoiding all narrative it is an evocative representation of people, emotional experience and memories of specific events" Mary Renner
